A Space Between the Places (2023–2025) is a personal art project by Nika Khabelashvili, presenting an artistic exploration of the concept of home through an existential perspective closely intertwined with the external world.
Over a 14-month overland journey from Eastern Europe to Central Asia, the artist lived and worked on the road, documenting spaces, people, and moments. The project combines visual material paintings, sketches, and collected objects, with a series of interviews recorded during the journey, reflecting direct exchanges with individuals met along the way. These conversations, centered on the notions of belonging that construct a layered narrative in which geographical routes and human experiences intersect, offer a reflective study of what it means to search for a sense of home in a continuously shifting world
